Our outdoor area includes a dedicated Forest School space, wooden climbing frames, a mud kitchen and even a wooden boat for imaginative adventures. Children enjoy regular outdoor play, with plenty of opportunities to develop their coordination, confidence and independence.
We are passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels part of our Kindred family. Across our five age-specific rooms, little ones enjoy inspiring spaces designed around their individual interests and stages of development, including a dedicated sensory room and role-play area for our pre-school children. We encourage independence through everyday experiences, helping children build confidence, develop new skills and explore at their own pace.
Our location offers wonderful opportunities for children to explore the local community. With Apley Woods just a 15-minute walk away, our little explorers enjoy woodland adventures and visits to the local market, where they can choose fresh vegetables to bring back to nursery and turn into delicious creations. A little about me...
My love of books began with Alice in Wonderland, after my great-aunt gifted me Lewis Carroll's complete collection. I also love The Scarecrows' Wedding by Julia Donaldson. My favourite nursery rhyme is Row, Row, Row Your Boat, as it always helped calm and comfort the children when I first started working in childcare.
What is one of the most important things you should know about us? That's easy: our fabulous team! Pure and simple.
Dedicated to being the best that a family could ask for, our team are constantly developing themselves through our training programme run by childcare and EYFS experts. At Kindred Telford, we're especially proud of our highly qualified team, including colleagues with Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications, alongside our dedicated Level 2 qualified Forest School Lead, who helps bring exciting outdoor learning experiences to life.
It is not just our little ones who are the passionate lifelong learners here at Kindred! It's all a testament to their love of what they do and what makes Kindred the incredible, loving place that it is.

Drop Off
Our doors open from 07:30, where you and your little one will be greeted by a member of our friendly team who will strive to ensure that the transition from home to nursery is a smooth and happy one. Wave ‘see you soon!’ to your child in the knowledge that they will be safe, well cared for and having endless amounts of fun as they settle in for the day ahead, enjoying free-flow play and activities of their own choosing.
Breakfast
Our children start their day off correctly with a healthy breakfast, served on a rolling basis between 07:30 and 08:45. This allows little ones to enjoy breakfast as they arrive and settle into their morning activities. A morning snack is also provided at 10:00 to keep everyone fuelled for the exciting day ahead.
Morning
Our pre-school children come together for registration time before beginning a morning filled with exciting opportunities for learning and discovery. Fuelled with a yummy breakfast, children enjoy a range of activities planned around their individual interests, developmental next steps and personal choices. From imaginative role play and sensory activities to creative arts and outdoor adventures, there is truly something for every child to enjoy. Outdoor play also forms an important part of the morning, allowing children to build confidence, develop physical skills and explore through active play.
Lunch
From 11:30, our younger children enjoy lunch, with our older children following as part of their daily routine. Freshly prepared by our on-site chef, mealtimes provide a wonderful opportunity to socialise with friends, develop independence and explore a variety of flavours and textures. Our seasonal menus offer plenty of choice and are carefully adapted to accommodate individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Nap Time
Following lunch, our younger children can enjoy a well-earned nap or quiet time. For our little sleepers, we create a calm and comforting atmosphere to support rest and relaxation. Children who are not sleeping can enjoy stories, songs and gentle play, helping to create a peaceful transition into the afternoon.
Afternoon
Children continue their learning journey through a balance of indoor and outdoor experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity and independence. Whether exploring open-ended resources, engaging in imaginative play or enjoying active time outdoors, every afternoon offers opportunities for discovery and development. Our older children also enjoy an afternoon snack at 14:00 before continuing their adventures.
Snack
To keep little ones fuelled and ready for all the awe and wonder their days hold, our older children enjoy a healthy afternoon snack at 14:00, including fresh fruit and vegetables alongside other nutritious options. From 15:00, our younger children enjoy a delicious evening meal, with our older children following at 15:45. Afterwards, children settle into a relaxed period of child-led play, giving them time to unwind and enjoy activities of their own choosing.
Home
As the day draws to a close, children enjoy relaxed play with their friends before being collected throughout the evening. Families are kept up to date through Satchel during the day, and at collection time your child's key person will share highlights of their learning, achievements and wellbeing, along with any important information. We wave our final goodbyes and wish everyone a safe journey home.
This is just an example day that the nursery follows, each day is subject to variation depending on activities and the needs of the children.
FAQs
FAQs
Does your nursery take the children out for trips in the local community?
Absolutely! We love giving our little explorers opportunities to discover the world beyond nursery. With Apley Woods just a 15-minute walk away, we enjoy woodland adventures and trips into Wellington. Our pre-school children also visit the local market to choose fresh vegetables, which they bring back to nursery to prepare and cook together.
What is the unique feel or ethos of your nursery team?
At Kindred Telford, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, home-from-home environment where every child feels valued and part of our Kindred family. Our highly qualified team take the time to get to know each little one, understanding their individual interests and supporting their next steps. We are passionate about nurturing independence, building confidence and creating inspiring experiences where children can grow and thrive.
What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?
We work closely with local primary schools, including Millbrook, Wrekin View, Dothill and St Patrick's, to help make the transition to school as smooth as possible. Through everyday experiences, we encourage children to develop independence, from putting on their own coats to pouring drinks and managing personal care. Our team also work closely with families to understand each child's individual needs and provide additional support where needed.
How do settling in sessions work?
We understand that starting nursery is a big milestone for both little ones and their families. At Kindred Telford, we offer two settling-in sessions, each lasting two hours. During the first session, parents stay with their child, giving them the reassurance of a familiar face while they explore their new surroundings. It's also a lovely opportunity for our team to get to know your family, discuss your child's routines, interests and individual needs and help make the transition from home to nursery as smooth as possible. If your little one needs a little extra time to settle, we're always happy to offer additional support.
Do you have links with any local family hubs, charities, or support groups?
We believe every family deserves to feel supported throughout their child's early years. At Kindred Telford, we can help connect parents with local organisations such as PODS, a Telford-based family support group. From helpful advice to family events and days out, these connections offer wonderful opportunities to meet other families, share experiences and find additional support when needed.
