What makes Big Top Buckingham Park Pre-School Unique?

At Big Top Buckingham Park we offer a variety of unique experiences that are both engaging and important for development. One of our favourite activities is feeding the baby lambs when the local farmer visits, helping our children learn the importance of caring for living things.

We have our very own vegetable patch where we grow fresh fruit and veg. We use our homegrown produce for cooking activities, making healthy eating an exciting and interactive experience.

We also have lots of engaging outdoor facilities including a sandpit, a water area, and a mud kitchen for sensory play. Our children also enjoy motor skill activities such as obstacle courses that we construct with building blocks.

Big Top Buckingham Park Pre-School FAQs

How often do the children play outside?

We operate a free flow policy all day, meaning children can play outdoors in all weather conditions whenever they choose.

Do you go out for trips in the local community?

We enjoy regular trips to the park next door. We also visit the nearby hall for music performances and the the annual Christmas pantomime.

How do you build relationships with parents?

We prioritise open communication and partnership with our families. We share a termly newsletter, hold termly meetings for parents with your child’s keyworker, and provide a suggestion box to ensure your voice is heard. We also offer a children’s lending library for you to enjoy reading at home with your little ones.

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?

We maintain strong connections with our local school, prior to the transition teachers will come and visit the children in our setting and for those children who need extra support we also take them to the school for settling sessions. Within our setting, we help children prepare through social stories about starting school, having school uniforms in our dress up area, and focusing on building independence by practicing tasks like putting on coats and shoes.
