What makes First Steps Day Nursery Ruskington unique?

Kindred Ruskington, we have a home-from-home feel that creates a gentle environment where our children feel secure and confident to explore. We have a wonderful team of longstanding staff, some of whom have been with us for over 10 years enabling us to build strong and consistent relationships with all our families.

Outdoor learning is at the heart of our daily adventures and rain or shine; we make a conscious effort to get outside as much as possible. Our large garden is full of engaging activities. Our children love exploring our mud kitchen, challenging themselves on the climbing apparatus, and getting creative in the loose parts area. We also have a dedicated planting area where our children grow their own fresh fruit and vegetables.

First Steps Day Nursery Ruskington FAQs

How often do the children play outside?

We ensure our children get plenty of time outdoors both in the morning and afternoon, regardless of the weather.

What are the parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up?

We provide a large private car park for parents, making your daily drop-offs and pick-ups simple and convenient.

What is the unique feel or ethos of your nursery team?

Our nursery has a wonderful family feel where everyone supports one another. The majority of our staff our longstanding members and some have even been with us 10+ years.

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?

We have good relationships with our local schools. Teachers will come in to visit the children at the nursery, or sometimes we take the children into the schools for introduction sessions. To prepare our children for the transition we introduce P.E. sessions in the pre-school room so they can practice important skills like getting dressed independently. We also add a variety of school uniforms to our home corner that the children can dress up in to help familiarise them.
