What makes Kindred Cambourne unique?
Kindred Cambourne is a warm nursery setting with a big family feel. Our approach centres on ensuring our children learn through exciting and diverse experiences. We love fostering creativity through movement, and you'll often find us dancing, dressing up, or bringing the whole nursery together for engaging activities.
Each of our rooms offers free-flow access to our garden which is fully equipped with climbing frames and a variety of loose parts, to encourage imaginative play and problem-solving skills.
We deeply value family partnerships and actively include parents in nursery life as much as possible. We actively encourage engagement through family craft days, regular updates via the Kindred Satchel app, or inviting our parents in to share their culture and celebrations with the children.

Kindred Cambourne Nursery and Pre-School FAQs
Do you take the children out into the local community?
Yes, we love getting the children out and about. We go on weekly woodland walks where they can explore nature.
What are the parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up?
We have our own private car park, so you can drop off and pick up your child safely and easily.
What is the unique feel or ethos of your nursery team?
We are one big family. We’re a loud, busy, and energetic team that loves to have fun; you’ll often find us dancing, dressing up, and coming together as a whole nursery as much as possible. We support each other every day, and we really, really love cake!
How do you build relationships with parents?
We keep you updated constantly through our app with photos and news. We also love to get families involved through craft days and donation drives, like bringing in veg to make soup together. We are a very diverse nursery, and we encourage our parents to share their own celebrations and cultures with us so we can all learn from each other.
What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?
We have great links with local schools. Teachers come in to meet the children, and we use photo albums of the schools to help the children get used to their new surroundings. We also have donated school uniforms and book bags for them to play with.
How do your settling in sessions work?
We usually run three sessions in the days before your child’s official start date:
Session 1: You stay with your child to meet their keyworker and fill in the "All About Me" book.
Session 2: Your child stays with us on their own. We’ll send you frequent updates and pictures through the app so you can see they are doing okay.
Session 3: A longer session to help them get used to the full nursery routine.
If your child hasn't quite settled by then, don't worry we are flexible and can offer more sessions until they feel at home.
Do you have links with any local family hubs, charities, or support groups?
We work closely with the Cambourne Children’s Centre, where we often donate our toys to help other families. We also organise foodbank collections for the local community through our links with the local church.
