With three experienced Montessori teachers and over 25 years of trusted reputation in Beckenham, we focus on helping our children develop their independence and concentration. "A child who concentrates is immensely happy" - Maria Montessori.
Our mixed-age setting allows the younger children to learn by observing and interacting with their older peers, developing social skills and encouraging gentle role-modelling.
We also work closely with our families, regularly inviting our parents into the preschool to share parts of their family life and experiences with the children.

Our Montessori approach to Pre-School
Our aim is to develop “the whole child”, instilling an enthusiasm for learning, and building strong foundations for our pupils’ future education. The Montessori Method believes that a teacher’s role is merely one to aid and support the child’s exploration and creativity, while the child learns from their environment and other children at their own pace. This method has shown to help foster independence, confidence, a sense of pride in their achievements and positive self-esteem from an early age.

Kindred Cator Park Montessori Pre-School FAQs
How do you build relationships with parents?
Weekly newsfeed updates are sent to parents via the Satchel app. Updates focus on the topic of the week and include photos of activities. Parents are often invited in to read stories, share cultural celebrations, or play musical instruments for the children. We also host Christmas sing alongs and family fun days.
What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?
We have good links with our local schools and many teachers will often come to visit the children at our pre-school before their transition. We also organise various activities to help our children prepare for the next step by familiarising them with the routines and expectations of primary school. Our Montessori approach and emphasis on independence means out setting already feels quite similar to a reception classroom which also helps to make the transition smoother for our children.
How do your settling in sessions work?
We typically offer 3 settling in sessions. For the first session we invite families in to meet with the child's keyworker and complete their "All About Me" booklet. For the second and third sessions we try a drop off, however, if a child needs extra support we always go at their pace and ensure they are fully comfortable before asking parents to leave.
