What makes Dragonflies Day Nursery unique?

At Dragonflies Day Nursery we’re passionate about outdoor learning. Our toddlers and preschoolers enjoy free flow access to the outside all day, every day giving them the freedom to step outside whenever they choose. Our babies and toddlers have their own garden ensuring they can explore the outdoors safely at their own pace.

Our garden has plenty of engaging facilities designed to spark exciting outdoor learning experiences. Our little ones can challenge their motor skills on our climbing apparatus, tend to their produce in our planting area, enjoy quiet stories in the cosy reading corner, or create messy concoctions in the mud kitchen for sensory play.

Dragonflies Day Nursery FAQs

How often do the children play outside?

Our babies enjoy outdoor time at least twice a day. For our toddlers and pre-schoolers, we offer free-flow access so they can choose when to head out and play.

Do you take the children out into the local community?

We regularly visit a local care home, giving our children the chance to spend meaningful time with the residents.

How do you build relationships with parents?

We host regular parents' evenings and regularly invite families in for special stay and play events, such as our Father’s Day breakfast and Mother’s Day afternoon tea.

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?

We work closely with local schools to ensure a smooth transition. They provide us with uniform samples, copies of their menus, and information about their daily routines. We incorporate these into our circle time and role-play activities so children can talk about and practice what they will be doing and eating at school. Teachers also visit us regularly to meet the children in their familiar setting.
