Clarecroft Day Nursery FAQs

Do you take the children out into the local community?

We love getting the children out in our local community and take regular trips to the library and duck pond, and our preschoolers even enjoy a yearly visit to the local fire station.

How do you build relationships with parents?

We're passionate about building strong relationships with our families and offer a variety of ways for parents and carers to get involved with nursery life including our weekly newsletter, fortnightly stay and play sessions and parents evenings.

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?

We maintain strong links with our local schools. We take our preschoolers to visit them throughout the year for sports day and Christmas plays. In the lead up to the transition we also invite the teachers into our nursery to meet the children. To help prepare our children for the routines of school, we introduce PE sessions, practice using a register board, and even take extra trips out, such as traveling on the bus.

How do your settling-in sessions work?

We typically offer two settling-in sessions. The first lasts a couple of hours with parents present to go over paperwork and answer any questions, and the second is a session where you drop your child off so they can start building their independence. If your child needs a little more time to feel at home, we are always happy to offer extra sessions.
