What makes Kindred Hemel Hempstead unique?

Kindred Hemel Hempstead is a nature-rich nursery where our children have plenty of space to explore and thrive.

Our large outdoor garden includes a vegetable patch where the children grow their own produce. We also have a dedicated baby garden, where our youngest explorers can enjoy the outdoors in a calm and secure environment.

Just a short walk from Boxmoor Trust owned land, our children enjoy regular outings to visit the local animals and experience moments they'll never forget, like watching the sheep being sheared. We're also lucky to have access to a beautiful apple orchard, where our little ones delight in picking their own fresh fruit.

We believe in cultivating strong relationships with our parents is key, which is why we love welcoming them into our setting to share music, stories, and inspiring moments with the children.

Age Range: We offer care for children from 3 Months up to 5 Years
Opening Hours: We are open 08:00 - 18:00, 51 weeks of the year.
Ofsted Rating: We are proud to have been rated Good by Ofsted at their last visit on 19th July 2023.
Location: We are located in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead

Government Funding: We accept all government funding including 30 free hours. Please speak to staff for eligibility details.
Enrichment Activities: Forest School, Boogimites, Gardening and Cooking.
Food Provisions: Fresh meals from our accredited menu prepared daily by our on-site chef.
Discounts: 5% NHS and Service Personnel discounts available. Ask staff for more details.

"We moved our 16-month-old daughter to Kindred in Hemel Hempstead from another, bigger nursery in another area in November of this year and could not be happier with the move. It's only been a couple of months but it's been the best decision. We were not very happy with the previous nursery and there was a fear that they are all the same, but this move has proved that wrong!
The manager is always there for anything you need, she is passionate about the nursery, knows all the children and all the parents. The whole feel of the place is different to most nurseries I've seen - it's got a great family feel and everyone is close-knit, even the parents seem to know each other well. My daughter settled super quickly and it feels like she's at home there.
One member of the learning lane staff is brilliant and you can tell she has a great relationship with all the kids. I trust her with everything. My daughter adores her. Another member of the learning lane staff is also lovely. Highly, highly recommend this place! Super grateful for it!

During your one-to-one visit to our Kindred Nursery and Pre School, we will talk you through our ethos, show you how we inspire our children to be curious learners and help you to experience how we spark their imaginations.

That’s easy: our incredible staff! Pure and simple. They are the heart of our family and what makes us unique. Our inspiring and passionate staff are the reason we have been voted the Top Nursery Group in the UK 2022 twice and hold the coveted ‘Top 20 Nursery Group 2024’ award and Nursery World Awards.

Dedicated to being the best that a family could ask for, our nursery staff are constantly developing themselves through our training programme run by childcare and EYFS experts. It is not just our little ones who are the passionate lifelong learners here at Kindred!

Amanda Jeffrey
Nursery Manager

Hello, I’m Amanda the Manager at Kindred Hemel Hempstead.

Having joined the nursery back in 2010 and completing my NVQ Level 3 as an apprentice, I have aspired to become Management and achieved this in 2022 when I became the Deputy Manager. After our manger of 23 years retired I stepped up to manager in August 2024.

I have an unwavering commitment to early childhood development to ensure we give the children the best start. We take pride in our outdoor provisions, that really enhance communication, emotional and physical skills.

Hi , I’m Jade the Deputy Manager at Kindred Hemel Hempstead.

I have been with the nursery since 2013 after completing my Level 3 qualification. The nursery is a home away from home and full of awe and wonder.

I was previously the Baby room leader for 10 years and have loved nothing more than nurturing and caring for the children, however I'm ready to explore my new role supporting my Manager and the team.
