What makes Kindred Tring unique?
At Kindred Tring, outdoor play and learning are at the heart of what we do. Set within the beautiful Tring Park Cricket Club grounds, our children enjoy the freedom of wide-open fields alongside our own garden. We further enrich this experience through our Forest School, giving our little ones the chance to explore and learn through interactive experiences with nature.
We help our children build confidence and meaningful links to the world around them through regular visits to local parks, the library, the museum, and even the fire station.
We encourage our families to attend fun seasonal events, such as our annual Christmas nativity, to share in the excitement of nursery life. We ensure our parents are always kept up-to-date with their child's daily adventures with regular updates via our Kindred Satchel newsfeed.

Meet Our Kindred Tring Nursery Staff
Murren Oakley
Nursery Manager
Hello. My name is Murren and I am the Manager at
Kindred Tring.
I started here as a student back in 2014, whilst doing my Level 3 Early Years Educator at college. I then worked as a nursery practitioner before becoming manager in 2017.
My passion is creating a fun, nurturing and inspiring learning environment for the children in my care, working closely with our families to help the children thrive.
Amber Johnson
Deputy Nursery Manager
Hi, I'm Amber the Deputy Manager at Kindred Tring.
I have been with the nursery since 2016, when I started as a student whilst completing my Level 3 in Early Years. Since then I have loved encouraging children to become confident, learning through play and becoming imaginative.
I became a room leader in 2021 and work closely with families and our local schools for the best outcome for our children as they progress on their early years journey and beyond.

Kindred Tring Nursery and Pre-School FAQs
What are the designated parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up?
We offer convenient and safe access with a shared car park that includes dedicated spaces for our families ensuring drop-off and pick-ups are as smooth as possible.
What is the unique ethos and philosophy of your nursery team?
Our nursery team cultivates a creative, fun, and home-from-home feel. We are one big family and are constantly creating enriching opportunities for our children. We're always singing and dancing, which helps to build children's confidence and maintain a joyful and stimulating environment.
How does your nursery build strong relationships and engagement with parents?
We prioritise a collaborative partnership with our diverse parent community through several engaging activities:
Family Events: We host fun events like family craft days.
Culture Sharing: We actively encourage parents to share their celebrations and culture with us.
Community Involvement: Getting our parents get involved in activities like donation drives.
Digital Communication: We ensure continuous transparency by always updating via the nursery app.
What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for their next step?
We work closely with local schools to ensure a confident transition. School teachers and staff come to our setting to meet the children, observing and interacting with them in a familiar environment. We also keep parents fully updated on transition dates and information via Satchel.
How do your settling in sessions work?
Our settling in sessions are structured, yet highly flexible, ensuring a comfortable transition for your child:
Session 1 (30 minutes): The parent stays to complete the 'All About Me' book and discuss key information.
Session 2 (1 hour): The child stays by themselves for one hour.
Session 3 (2 hours): The child stays for two hours to experience more of the routine.
If we or the parent feels they need more time, we are very flexible and can easily add more sessions to ensure every child is fully happy and secure.
What are your staff-to-child ratios at the nursery?
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care and attention for every child, with safety as our top priority. Our staff-to-child ratios strictly adhere to and, in some cases, exceed UK regulations to ensure a secure, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Our regulated ratios are as follows:
Babies (Under 2 years): 1 staff member to every 3 children (1:3)
Toddlers (2-3 years): 1 staff member to every 5 children (1:5)
Preschoolers (3-4 years): 1 staff member to every 8 children (1:8)
By maintaining these ratios, we guarantee that each child receives the individual support, supervision, and guidance they need to thrive in a safe and monitored setting.
