Meet Our Kindred Twickenham Nursery Staff
After our passion, what is the next most important thing you should know about us?
That’s easy: our incredible staff! Pure and simple. They are the heart of our family and what makes us unique. Our inspiring and passionate staff are the reason we hold the coveted ‘Top 20 Nursery Group 2024’ award and, year after year, are recognised in the prestigious NMT Nursery Awards and Nursery World Awards.
Dedicated to being the best that a family could ask for, our nursery staff are constantly developing themselves through our training programme run by childcare and EYFS experts. It is not just our little ones who are the passionate lifelong learners here at Kindred!
Bekki Brophy
Nursery Manager
Hi, my name is Bekki and I am the Nursery Manager.
I have been working for Kindred since 2010. I started as a trainee practitioner, progressing to Room Leader and then to Deputy Manager at our Kindred Hanwell Nursery. I have since had the opportunity to take on the Manager role here at Kindred Twickenham in December 2024.
I have improved my skills to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children to thrive in. My passion for early childhood development has driven me to excel in areas such as in the moment planning and staff leadership. Throughout the years, I have developed a deep understanding of children's learning and development and formed strong relationships with our parents. My commitment in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere has not only been my professional mission but also a personal fulfilment in shaping the future of the little ones in our care.
Lina
Deputy Nursery Manager
Hi, I'm Lina and I am the acting deputy manager here at Twickenham covering maternity leave.
Kindred Twickenham Nursery & Pre-School FAQs
How often do children get to play outside at the nursery, and what is your approach to outdoor learning?
We place a big emphasis on outdoor exploration and learning, ensuring our children are outside frequently throughout the day. We facilitate this by providing free flow access to our outdoor spaces, allowing children to move between indoor and outdoor activities as they choose helping promote active learning and curiosity,
What are the designated parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up?
One of our buildings has a driveway for quick drop-offs and pick-ups. There is also ample free on-street parking available directly outside the nursery.
How do your settling in sessions work?
Our settling-in process is structured across three days to ensure a gradual and comfortable transition for your child:
Day 1 (1 hour): The parent stays with the child to meet the key person and complete the 'All About Me' book and all necessary paperwork.
Day 2 (1 hour): The parent drops off the child for a one-hour session, allowing the child to practice separation and start bonding with the staff independently.
Day 3 (2 hours): This session is extended to two hours to allow the child to experience more of the nursery routine.
We are highly flexible; if your child requires more time to feel secure, we can easily accommodate and arrange additional sessions.
What are your staff-to-child ratios at the nursery?
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care and attention for every child, with safety as our top priority. Our staff-to-child ratios strictly adhere to and, in some cases, exceed UK regulations to ensure a secure, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Our regulated ratios are as follows:
Babies (Under 2 years): 1 staff member to every 3 children (1:3)
Toddlers (2-3 years): 1 staff member to every 5 children (1:5)
Preschoolers (3-4 years): 1 staff member to every 8 children (1:8)
By maintaining these ratios, we guarantee that each child receives the individual support, supervision, and guidance they need to thrive in a safe and monitored setting.
