What makes Big Top Waddesdon Day Nursery unique?

At Big Top Waddesdon Day Nursery, we are proud to have a team that has been with us for a long time allowing us to provide consistent and familiar care that helps our children feel right at home.

We really value outdoor learning and have created different spaces for the children to enjoy. Whether they are busy in the mud kitchen and construction area or finding a quiet moment in the nature garden, they are always learning through play. Our babies have their own little garden to explore at their own pace, too. We also love spending time in our vegetable patch, where the children get to see the whole journey of their food; from planting the seeds to enjoying what they’ve grown.

Being part of our village is important to us, too. We love taking the children on regular trips to the local school library and visiting Waddesdon Manor for seasonal events, helping them feel right at home in their community.

Start of Day

  • Open 08:00, arrivals and warm welcomes
  • Rolling breakfast served from 08:00 until 09:00

Morning

  • Mix of child and adult-led learning and play
  • Outdoor play
  • Musical group time 
  • Mid morning snack from 10:00

Afternoon

  • Lunch from 11:45
  • Nap and quiet time for those who need it

During your one-to-one visit to our Kindred Nursery and Pre School, we will talk you through our ethos, show you how we inspire our children to be curious learners and help you to experience how we spark their imaginations.

What is the unique feel or ethos of your nursery team?

Our team has a real longstanding family feel, with many of our staff having worked together for years. We have a lot of qualified team members who are naturally nurturing, making sure the nursery feels like a warm and safe place for your child to grow.

How do you build relationships with parents?

We love getting families involved through our seasonal "stay and play" sessions. These are relaxed events where you can come in for crafts or holiday celebrations, see what your child has been learning, and get to know the team and other parents.

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for the next step?

We invite local teachers to visit the children here at the nursery so they can meet in a place where the children feel comfortable. For our school leavers, we have a dedicated smaller classroom space. This helps them get used to a classroom environment while we focus on the basics like phonics and handwriting, ensuring they feel confident when it's time to move up.
