Kindred St Ives offers a warm, imaginative space where our children thrive through outdoor, open-ended play. Our garden features a woodside area, playhouses, logs, and a sensory rich mud kitchen - perfect for everyday exploration.
Tucked away is our secret garden; a calming space with a canopy, where our children can build dens, play with natural materials, and enjoy peaceful moments in nature. Open-ended resources like crates, hosepipes, and steering wheels spark creativity and problem-solving through child-led play.
We're proud of our long-standing team who bring experience and continuity to every child's journey, providing the kind of personalised and consistent care that help your little one flourish.
After our passion, what is the next most important thing you should know about us?
That’s easy: our incredible staff! Pure and simple. They are the heart of our family and what makes us unique. Our inspiring and passionate staff are the reason we hold the coveted ‘Top 20 Nursery Group 2024’ award and, year after year, are recognised in the prestigious NMT Nursery Awards and Nursery World Awards.
Dedicated to being the best that a family could ask for, our nursery staff are constantly developing themselves through our training programme run by childcare and EYFS experts. It is not just our little ones who are the passionate lifelong learners here at Kindred!

Combining her passions for childcare and the outdoors, Jo Monery, Deputy Manager at Kindred Cheshunt, chats to us about the journey which lead the nursery to receive the coveted RHS Level 5 award in School Gardening.
Has British Science Week left you looking for more fun and educational activities to do at home with your children? Well, look no further than your cupboards! There are plenty of easy science experiments you can do using just simple ingredients you may already have laying around at home.
Amidst the current financial crisis, rising costs have made it imperative, more now than ever, to be smarter with our spending. That’s why we’ve put together a list of some of the best ways to save some pennies when it comes to nursery fees.
