What makes Kindred Billericay unique?

At Kindred Billericay, we are passionate about outdoor play. Our children enjoy free flow access to our garden throughout the day giving them the freedom to guide their own learning journey. With plenty to choose from, including our painting corner, sensory activity tables, and mud kitchen they are constantly supported in active exploration and play.

We welcome children from birth giving you the flexibility to return to work earlier and with the peace of mind that your little one is in safe hands.

We are incredibly proud of the strong reputation we hold in the local community, which is reflected in the many families that recommend us to their relatives and friends. We love helping children connect with the world around them through regular trips to local parks, shops, and the library. Plus, our exciting penpal initiative takes us even further afield as we post and receive letters from our friends in Australia!

Parent Reviews

  • "My daughter has been within this nursery for the past 3 months now, and the staff there are amazing. They have been great with helping her with her eating. They take time with her and go at her own pace. The communication is amazing, the app they have shows when she had a nappy change, what she has eaten and when she has had a sleep.
All staff there are always friendly. After a full day with my child I am always tired and exhausted when I go to pick her they are calm and not stressed.
    Thank you Kindred Nursery."

  • "My son has been going to Kindred Billericay Nursery and Pre-School for the past 3 years and my daughter the past year and I always feel at ease when they are there. They both have such a special bond with their key workers and have always been absolutely obsessed and besotted with them. All the workers show genuine care and love for all the children and do such an amazing job juggling looking after them all and making sure they are having fun but also being able to give the children that need it a cuddle and one on one attention."

  • "We have three children at Kindred Nursery, and the experience has been amazing. The staff genuinely care and create a wholesome, nurturing environment where our children thrive. The key person has been fantastic for our eldest for three years, and she adores her. All the staff are wonderful, and we're so grateful for their care!"

  • "My little girl started back in August at 9 months and really struggled to settle. The staff were amazing with her and after a few weeks, she was smiling and clapping when we turned up. Thank you to the two ladies who stayed with her all the time in the first few weeks and made sure she was okay. Also sending me updates throughout the day on the app to put my mind at rest. Now she goes straight I get a quick wave if I'm lucky and she is off playing. I have seen a massive development in her speech, she now walks and is comfortable meeting new people and being away from me.
The food she eats is amazing and the app is great for all the updates throughout the day. Nappy changes, when she has napped and videos and pictures of what she has done during the day. Which is normally having a dance party with one lady in particular. I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work."

  • "I am thrilled with the experience my children have had at Kindred! From the moment we enrolled, it was clear that the staff are caring, supportive, and dedicated to the well-being of each child. My son & daughter have thrived in this environment, & I've seen them grow and develop in ways I didn't think possible at such a young age. The activities offered are both engaging and educational, keeping the children excited to come every day. Whether it's arts & crafts, outdoor play, or learning through play, the nursery ensures that every day is filled with fun & discovery. The team always takes the time to make sure each child feels valued, & I can see that my kids are not only happy but also confident and curious about the world around them. The staff go above & beyond to foster a nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, & respected. I couldn't ask for a better place for my little ones to learn & grow. I'm grateful to the team for their care and dedication!"

Kindred Billericay Nursery and Pre-School FAQs

How does your nursery build strong relationships with parents?

We encourage parent engagement by holding regular family events. These include:

A dedicated Parents' Evenings twice a year to discuss your child's progress in detail.

Festive Christmas Stay and Plays and other seasona family fun days

Celebrations for Mother's Day and Father's Day

What links do you have with local schools to prepare my child for their next step?

Our proximity to Buttsbury Primary School allows for a seamless and highly effective transition process:

Teacher Visits: Teachers from the school come over to our setting to meet and interact with the children in a familiar environment.

Nursery Visits: We take our children over to the school for a visit, allowing them to explore the reception classrooms and outdoor areas before they officially start. This direct experience significantly reduces first-day anxiety.

How do your settling in sessions work?

We offer a structured three-session settling-in process designed for a gentle transition:

Session 1 (30 mins): The parents and child meet with the Room Leader in a separate room for a private introduction. This time is used to complete the 'All About Me' book and share essential details.

Session 2 (90 mins): The parent drops off the child for an hour and a half, allowing them to practice a short period of separation.

Session 3 (3 hours): The child stays for an extended three hours to experience a portion of the nursery routine.

If a child needs more time to settle, we can easily arrange additional sessions to ensure they are fully happy and secure.

Do you have links with any local charities?

Yes, we regularly participate in food bank collections working directly with the Billericay Foodbank teaching the children all about kindness and social responsibility.
