At Kindred Orpington, we're all about creating a seamless and joyful experience for you and your child. Our convenient location, just a 5-minute walk from Orpington station with a handy buggy storage, makes drop-offs and pick-ups a breeze.

We have a large garden with lots of exciting equipment for our children to explore. Here they can hone their confidence and motor skills on our climbing frame, create sensory delights in our mud kitchen, or enjoy a peaceful moment reading a book in the cozy den.

We believe in cultivating strong relationships with our families and keep our parents in the loop with daily newsletters, helping you feel more connected to your little one's day.

  • Age Range: We offer care for children from 3 Months up to 5 Years.
  • Opening Hours: We are open 08:00 - 18:00, 51 weeks of the year.
  • Ofsted Rating: We are proud to have been rated Good by Ofsted at their last visit on 24th March 2023
  • Location: We are conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Orpington Station.
  • Government Funding: We accept all government funding including 30 free hours. 
  • Enrichment Activities:  Signing, Yoga, Dance, Sporty Stars and Cookery Club.
  • Food Provisions: Fresh meals from our accredited menu prepared daily by our on-site chef. 
  • Discounts: 5% NHS and Service Personnel discounts available. Ask staff for more details.

A day in the life at Kindred Orpington

Start of Day

  • Open at 08:00, arrivals and warm welcomes
  • Breakfast served from 08:00 to 09:00

Morning

  • Child led free play
  • Focus activities 
  • At least 1 hour of outdoor play
  • Snack from 10:00

Afternoon

  • Lunch from 11:30
  • Nap and quiet time for those who need it

We are located in Orpington, only a 9 minute walk from Orpington Station. 

We are a 7 minute drive or 18 minute bus journey to Orpington Hospital. 

We have ample parking available in gated nursery carpark.

  • "My child has been attending Kindred Orpington (Babies Room) since September 2023 and is very happy there. The nursery has a large outdoor space with lots of activities, which was an important factor for us in choosing it. The children do plenty of organised developmental play as well as free play. Immediately after Kindred took over running the nursery the staff were in a state of flux, with quite a few agency workers, but this has now resolved. The staff who have been recruited are kind & on the ball."

  • "In early 2023, Kindred took over this nursery, after the transition they hired a new nursery manager to manage and lead the nursery, working together with a long-serving staff member (deputy manager who everyone loves). Their dedication to making sure the children have a safe and friendly environment, whilst adjusting and aligning to new ownership values and ways is admirable. The staff in the preschool room are amazing at helping the children learn and gain their trust in a fun environment. Three other staff members are great at ensuring babies and toddlers have an organised calmness, working together across rooms to suit the children's needs. This is so important at such a developmental age for our children. Through the teamwork illustrated in recent months, the ladies are really building out a fun safe environment for the children to thrive at such an impressionable stage in their lives. Hello, my name is Sophie and I have been working in childcare since 2018. I started my career as a nursery practitioner but have progressed with my love for the sector and am now the deputy manager here at Kindred Orpington.

I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them to grow and develop is the most rewarding thing.
