Who are Kindred Nurseries?

We are an award-winning group of inspiring day nurseries and pre-schools based in the UK, dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and early education. A 'big little family' of nurseries across the country, we realised that by pooling our shared passion, experience and resources we can achieve even more in our mission to create inspiring worlds of awe and wonder for little ones to thrive in.

What age groups do you cater to?

Our nurseries are usually for children aged 0-5 years, however some of our pre-school settings are for children aged 2-5.

What are your operating hours?

We aim to provide flexibility for working families, meaning many of our nurseries offer early starts and late finishes. Please speak with your nursery manager to find out the exact opening hours of your closest Kindred Nursery.

Are you open year-round?

Yes, most of our day nurseries are open year-round except for bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. This ensures continuous care and learning opportunities for your child. In some cases, such as our term-time only pre-schools, this may differ. Please speak to your nursery manager to find out more.

What makes Kindred Nurseries different from other nurseries?

From our Pedagogy, to our accredited menus, to our parent communication app, to our multiple award wins, there are so many things that make Kindred a unique and wonderful place for your child's early education. You can read more about what sets us apart from other nurseries here.

Where are you located?

We have over 45 nursery and pre-school settings across England, with multiple locations in London, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Wiltshire, Nottinghamshire and more. You can find your nearest Kindred Nursery by using our postcode search.

How can I enroll my child at Kindred Nurseries?

You can start the enrollment process by filling out our enquiry form, or contacting your nearest Kindred Nursery to book a tour. Our friendly nursery teams will guide you through the entire process and answer any questions you may have.

Is there a waiting list?

In some our of nurseries, there may be a waiting list due to high demand of specific days. We recommend contacting your preferred nursery as early as possible to check availability and secure a spot for your child.

How do you manage illness and emergencies?

We follow strict health and safety guidelines. If a child becomes ill, we will contact parents immediately. In emergencies, we have protocols in place to ensure children receive the necessary care, and we maintain close communication with parents.

Do you conduct background checks on your staff?

Yes. We follow safer recruitment practices, meaning all staff members undergo rigourous background checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks and provide multiple references, to ensure they are qualified and suitable to work with children.

What is your policy on administering medication to children?

We can administer prescribed medication with written consent from parents. All medications must be clearly labelled with the child's name and dosage instructions. Our staff are trained to follow strict protocols to ensure medications are given safely and correctly.

How do you ensure the safety and security of the children?

Safety is our top priority. Our nurseries have secure entry systems, CCTV, regular fire drills, and all staff are trained in first aid and safeguarding. We also maintain a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure close supervision.

How do you manage food allergies and special dietary requirements?

We work closely with parents to accommodate any food allergies or special dietary needs. All of our nurseries are nut-free, our kitchens are equipped to handle allergen-free meals, and staff are trained to recognize and respond to allergic reactions. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements during registration so we can make the necessary arrangements.
