What makes Kindred Waltham Abbey unique?
Kindred Waltham Abbey is situated in a quiet, beautiful spot surrounded by fields and greenery, offering a peaceful and inspiring setting for your child's growth. Our longstanding team of familiar staff are deeply connected to the local area, which means we can easily share information and point you towards great places and events in the community.
We encourage extensive outdoor exploration in our nice, large gardens, which feature dedicated spaces for each room. Your child will love our big outdoor mud kitchen for imaginative sensory play and our wonderful woodland area, where we often hunt for bugs and enjoy stories.
Beyond our outdoor areas, we offer a variety of fun and educational enrichment activities to engage every child; from exercising those gross motor skills with Mini Olympics, practicing mindfulness with yoga and even preparing for school with RobotReg phonics.

Kindred Waltham Abbey Nursery and Pre-School FAQs
What are the designated parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up?
We offer easy and convenient access with a large, private car park exclusively for our families. This dedicated parking area ensures a safe and smooth experience during both drop-off and pick-up times.
How do your settling in sessions work?
Our settling-in process is designed to be highly flexible and accommodate your family's schedule. The process typically includes three key sessions:
Session 1: This is a joint session where the parent stays with the child to meet the key person and collaboratively fill out the 'All About Me' book, sharing crucial information about the child.
Subsequent Sessions: We arrange two further settling sessions where the child is dropped off. These are scheduled at a time that is convenient for the parent.
If your child requires additional time to feel secure, we are completely flexible and happy to offer more sessions to ensure a confident and smooth transition.
What are your staff-to-child ratios at the nursery?
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care and attention for every child. Our staff-to-child ratios strictly adhere to all UK regulations to ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Our ratios are as follows:
Babies (Under 2 years): 1 staff member to every 3 children (1:3)
Toddlers (2-3 years): 1 staff member to every 5 children (1:5)
Preschoolers (3-4 years): 1 staff member to every 8 children (1:8)
This commitment to regulated ratios guarantees that each child receives the individual support and guidance they need to thrive.
